Benilde’s place in Civitavecchia was the perfect short term stay before boarding our cruise ship. The apartment was walkable from both the train station and the port shuttle bus for the ship. The place was big enough for all seven of us. The courtyard was nice during the day, however the city’s most famous pizza place was right next door, and since the weather was nice, there was plenty of activity and lively Italians in the courtyard late into the night. I would still recommend staying here before boarding your cruise.

My sister and I had a wonderful time in Cuvitavecchia. We explored the city at a leisurly pace. Benilde and her sister were very helpful, especially when we needed the post office. Their B&B is centrally located in a charming piazza. The cafe next door is where they serve the breakfast. . . It was a nice place to sit and plan the day. Benilde had restaurant recommendations for dinner but we ended up eating a big lunch then purchasing cheese and wine and other delicious items for a light dinner from the shop two doors away. This was a great way to acclimate to Italy after a 13 night transatlantic crossing.
